lowering 996TT

Larry, talk to Tom, they are absolute experts in that area. I believe that they are authorized JRZ distributors. Check out their website.

Thanks Mario, I just looked at the site. I have H&R's on the 993 that TPC put on for the PO and I hate them. I think it's the springs. They transmit everything into the cabin instead of absorbing it. Just after you left the other night, Tom was moving cars back inside and he said the one regular 996 had JRZ's on it and asked if I wanted to take a ride. I thought they were racing shocks and would be hard but they ate the ruts instead of tranmitting them to the cabin. I'll have to seriously consider them.
What do you have on your car? Did you lower your car or was it like that when you got it? Will I need to buy any drop links in order to lower it?

That's the factory height on a Gt2, it's completely stock. I believe that Porsche uses H&R for their OEM suspension. I think you do have to replace the drop links because the body will be closer to the sway bar and the drop links can't be adjusted that far to compensate for the decrease in ride height, but I may be wrong. Tom will definitely steer you in the right direction when it comes to any suspension upgrades. I may be going by late Friday for a dyno run, if you have time come by and we'll talk suspension.
BTW, I took her out this evening; she's hitting 1.1 bar in 3rd and 4th right around 4700 rpm. I think one more waste gate adjustment and I'll see a steady 1.1 bar with a 1.2 spike. The car pulls like a freight train. I never imagined that an exhaust would enhance the flash by that much. If I knew that when I had her flashed, I would of bought that exhaust a year ago.

I'm glad you're happy with the exhaust and that it's doing it's job. What time Friday? I might be free and if so I might show up. I need you to take me for a ride in the chile pepper!

Larry, The H&R springs only will do that, the shocks wear out prematurly, and when you have a shorter spring on a stock shock you just have that much less travel. Generally a coil over will have more travel room to compensate for the shorter spring. I just got the H&R coil over set up (spring + helper spring on a threaded shock body). It came with drop links for the front and I believe every Coil over set up will have them included.
I will let you have a ride when I put them on.

Tired 993 Monroes all feel firm and harsh.

I just had the porsche european X-73 suspension installed (with the swaybars) on my turbo cab. Lowers the car and handles great (although the engine mounts have to be changed to raise the engine a little). the american version is slightly different, but it works well also. The best part is since it is a porsche part, it should still be under warranty. Pss9s or any other aftermarket suspension will not be. Everything is preset from the factory as well (although the european version appears to have more adjustability that the american version- or at least that what I understand).

Answer to your original question......do I need DLs as part of lower project......'yes'.
Adjustable DLs........otherwise you're bound to be preloading when you set new height and corner bal.
Many sources.....TRG and SCarGo are a couple.
Good luck.

first, in response to the earlier post, the suspension won't affect the warranty, but if an aftermarket part such a component of a pss9, it will not be covered. if a porsche part fails, it will be replaced under warranty. As for the x-73, I was told the american version is slightly different, although that might only be true for cabs.
