WOODSTER's 60-130 mph Runs yesterday:
#16
Markski,
OK,
I have not seen my graphs, I am a computer illiterate and when I opened
the files last night I felt like I fell in a black hole...I immediately emailed them
to Jean who is somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I can email them to you
Mark if you like or have Jean email them to me. I started right under 60 (maybe 55 mph), this are a baseline, this is what I said. This car has so
much more, I am just trying to harness it/figure it out. PSM, No PSM, what
gear to start in, blah, blah, blah, I just wanted to get SOMETHING on record.
Remember, Todd's mods to my car improved my 60-130 from a PSI 480 @
10.96 to 6.7 seconds, Now that is a major improvement.
We all can get worked up when it is our own stuff, I now have more
appreciation for ALL the stuff that Big JoeRennTech in his GT700 has
posted up.
I will continue to provide what I accomplish (like losing to a GT2) regardless
of the outcome.

Marty ur doing it wrong... leave the PSM OFF.... if u had drag radials that would help but u dont.......
U need to start like 30 mph Im assuming in 3rd.... so by the time it gets to 60 its alraedy at full boost..... this is critical...
u can also try 2nd ( from 30 mph as well)... but 3rd I think will do... if ur not full boost by the time ur at 60 then maybe try 2nd gear....
trust me it will improve ur time.... ur 55 mph roll on didnt give u enought time to get on boost b4 the AX 22 started to record...
Experiment... try in 4rth ONLY.... go down to 30 mph and do the same...
godd luck.

I had no idea you were starting to accelerate at 55 mph! You're losing valuable time, bro!
Mark is right. PSM off...start at 30 mph in 2nd gear, bring her to redline in each gear. After a couple of runs and a cool down...try starting in 3rd at 30 mph. I don't think 4th will work for you, but it can't hurt to try. I think your best time will be when you start from 2nd and shift twice...but we'll see.
Try her again, only this time full acceleration from 30 mph!
I'll be off-line until Wednesday evening (I'll be in the woods doing some shooting drills for work). But I hope to see some MUCH better times by then!

Damn you guys have some great times.
Not to hijack the thread, but one easy question. How day to day reliable are these things at 700 and 800 hp if you drive them hard?

Guys,
Thank you all for the advice!!
I had bald Continental tires on the rear which I have since changed to Michelin
PS2's. It is supposed to be cooler this weekend (and rainy). Within (2) weeks I will have a run that is better than the current one. I have 42,000
miles on my car and it uses no oil (which is kind of strange?).
I will also do a low run boost to see what performance level I was at when
I was running against the Speed Gallery "650" GT2 on Race Gas.
Cheers,
MK

Car hasn't blown up!
Nothing about the GT700 has caused any service issues. I had a coolant pipe go bad that was a stock part. Done brakes and oil and filter changes and that is about it.

Here are the facts: AX-22 GPS device
0) Mexican country roads
1) mid eighty degree temps, humid, sunny
2) MS 103 gas (99 octane unleaded)
3) High boost @ 1.4 bar peak, 1.35 sustained.
4) full weight 996TT with autopower cage, spare tire, tool kit, all sorts of tools, extra brake pads, rags, helmet and other crap in trunk from Road America track day recently, cell phone, radar detector a wallet full of ones and a CD changer full of music.
5)My weight 185 lbs. exactly
6)developed boost leak on last run or maybe after run since I ran it up to
155 mph or so. (car limped home with black rich smoke following me, see other thread titled: Met up with the Woodster)
Results:
62-124 mph == 5.8 seconds (one shift)
60-130 mph == 6.74 seconds (one shift)
this has been verified by Jean and sent to Scott for approval and his
notes were that I had lag or wheel spin on the 6.74 run.
Big Joe Renntechv12 GT2 GT700 is faster as well as Chinotowest
and and DMKaboom. I have no excuses, but this will be improved.
I can tell you for a fact that those GT700's are very quick!

Marty! Congrat! Awesome! What a impressive run you achieved!
By the way! Can you tell me what is MS 103 fuel? Is that racing fuel right?
