I just bought a ’04 turbo with all the AWE tuning (K-24's an waste gates) 600 hp components on it. I know the owner and car history but through a series of events I ended up buying it from a dealer. The good news is that the car is CPO’d. The bad news is that the dealer flashed it back to stock SW as a part CPO. As an act of lunacy on my part, I am going to pick up the car this week and drive it 1500 miles back to Colorado. I’ve had the fluids changed and if the car is running well I might pick up a track day event on the way back as well.

I’ll be in the Philly area and could probably stop by AWE to get the right SW match to the HW but my question is what will the car drive like with the 600HP components and stock SW? FWIW, the service manager at the dealership knows the car well and he said it still runs like the hounds of hell with good driveablity. Those of you with modded cars, would you change the SW before the trip and how do you think it will run?

 

First of all, A big congrats, sounds like a wonderful car!

Personally, I would take it to AWE and have them flash it to run
with the components that they have on it. It should be a very
fast car in that configuration.

I have zero history with AWE but they come recommended. I think I'll be in Philly Wednesday and maybe I'll see if they can take a look at it on short notice. Extenuating circumstances and all that. The did some of work on it in the shop there and it would be nice to have them look it over and get the right SW brew for this altitude, use and so on. I'm just wondering how it will run with stock SW?

I hope to have either this car or the GT3 on RA soon. I'll look you up.
