B&M Short Shift + TechArt Short Shift + EVO Shift-Link combination question

I already have the TechArt transmission mounted short shifter in the car. It has settings for 20, 30 and 40% reductions in throw and is currently set at 40%. I have the Evo Shift-Link ready to install but I am leaning towards purchasing the B&M shifter as well and doing a combination of all three (TechArt Tranny SS, B&M Console SS and Evo Shift-Link).

My questions are:
  1. Will all three work together? If so, how well?
  2. If I set the TA tranny SS to 20% and install the B&M as well, will it be too short of a throw?

KPV - Duane has all except I think the EVO shiftlink which is more for durability reasons than for shortening throw or increasing notchiness...

I'd think the resulting shifter throw (~55-60% shorter than stock) would be way too short.

I'd do the B&M with the ShiftLink without the TA tranny SS and decide how you like the feel. If it isn't short enough, then put the TA back on.

Ken,

I just installed the B&M and the throw is pretty short. I also have the evo shiftlink.

The problem that I used to have getting the car into 1st is completely gone. Very precise and such good feel!

This is definitely the best mod next to my upsolute ecu. Had I known my problems with engaging the gear into first would be resolved, this would have been my first mod.

You might want to check out mine before you go with a 50%+ reduction in throw.

Porsche Motorsports says anything shorter than 30-40% reduction prematurely wears out the race steel synchros . Our Turbos have soft brass synchros in gears 1-3 for easier engagement esp when cold , which are even more susceptible to wear .

Installed B&M short shifter 2 wks ago and it's probably one of the best mods for the tt other than a chip (and of course the bling-bling). Took 1.25 hrs to install. IMHO the stock p-car shifters have always left something to be desired. Couldn't believe all the plastic on the stock part. Didn't change tranny mount since car won't be tracked very much, and really couldn't ask for a better shifter "feel" than is now present.

Well, I just installed my B&M shifter and EVO Shift-Link. These are in addition to the TechArt transmission mounted short shifter I already had. I set the TA transmission short shifter to 30% (20, 30 and 40% choices).

All I have to say is HOLY COW!!!.

It feels like I am driving an F1 car!! The throw is so greatly reduced between the two short shifters that I am in complete amazement!! It is so incredible to drive. I can't believe I waited this long!!

If anyone has not installed the B&M yet, run, do not walk, to your vendor and get one installed!! It is the best bang for the buck out of all of the mods I have done to date. Thanks Mike at AWE for the overnight shipping and usual excellent treatment!

I guess you could say I am happy....

Ken, what do you think your reduction is with the TA set at 30%?

Hmmmmm........

How about I answer that in another way? My throw is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches.

Parker, BTW, I love the Pulp Fiction quote in your sig!

Todd,
No, really, I mean LAST!!

I guess this qualifies as a mod to a mod and not a new mod?????

Todd,

You are correct!! This was a mod to a mod and not a new mod!

OK, NOW I am done except for some CF interior pieces.
