New car has full 997 RSR suspension, brakes, centerlocks, 997 style BBS monoblocks, and 997 RSR brakes. Engine is built by 911 Design (Loren Beggs) and is essentially a turbocharged GT3 motor and will dyno at over 800WHP. Transmission is fully re-geared for track use and includes a Guard GT differential w/ triple disk carbon clutch assembly. Using Michelin PS Cups, 295/30-18 fr and 345/30-18 rr. Car has extensive carbon Kevlar body mods using parts froM DP Motorsport in Germany. Includes full RSR rear deck lid and wing. Cannot wait to get it back from builder! It has been under construction for 5 months, mostly because factory 997 RSR parts are very difficult to get.

I've seen GT2 (2003s w/ 6k miles) go for 106-110k private party sales.
Think they'll go much lower when the 997 version comes out??

Chuck,
The GT700 kit you have made the car lose its fun factor? Are clutches weak points in these cars? I'm not overly worried about the fuel, i always have C16 laying around the house.

VERY good points....at some point....one is "there." I am there at present. I might push here or there...but now I am focusing on just enjoying it as is.

I feel the values of the 996GT2 will not drop much further than where they are at now. There were just around 300 of them imported to North America. A few are wrecked and a lot are with people that will keep them for a long time. A GT2 at around $100k is the Porsche bang for the buck bargain of the decade.

The car is polar silver and will be refinished in the same color. I am looking to participate in events once I understand the power and handling characteristics of the car. It will certainly be VERY different from stock GT2. What events are you speaking of?

Polar Silver is an extremely rare color for a GT2. My old 993 was Polar, I love it. Any pics?

I probably will not ship it back to Scottsdale until the fine tuning is complete. I will look at your website. I have owned many exotic cars, but have never been involved in a club. This is my first project car. We are going to build a very special Cayman as well beginning next January. Probably will duplicate this motor for that project. We should probably meet sometime, maybe when the car is complete.
