No Buddy I am not, but everytime I see 6speed's newest GT2 owner's car, I dream.
S351 has a gorgeous 2003 with low miles and the SG650 kit and the car runs like
the wind! (We went for a cruise yesterday).
On a sidenote, I saw his Saleen S351 Convertible yesteday and it is a work of art.
I dont think there is a stock part left on it.

Matching performance of a GT2 is a far easier pursuit than turning a C6 Corvette into a Z06 for example.

My two cents.
For 02 and 03 cars prepare to spend $100-120k depending on mileage, condition, options, history, etc.
04 and 05 cars command a higher asking price since there are so few of them. Twenty four were brought in for 04 and five for 05 as most of us know.
Here is an 04 with 2214 miles. Asking $145,990. Too high IMO. This car has been listed for sale for a very long time now.

But this 05 is for sale at a very fair price IMO. 6640 miles. Asking $137,998. This one has been sitting for a while as well. They dropped their original asking price due to that.

Hello,
I notice that you have a GT2 as well, probably the second one in MN.
I bought my Nov. 2004 and like it very much. This is my 13 Porsche and I like this one more that any of my previous one.
Are you member of the local Porsche club, Nord Stern?
Are you going tomorrow to the Rochester Nord Stern BBQ?

I'm curious why? The only performance or appearance differences are 2wd, more power, better suspension, slightly different bodywork, no rear seat pads.......all of which your car already has or is easily obtained. The only thing left is exclusivity, which for most of us isn't all that important......otherwise we would be in F or L cars.

And exclusivity is important. For me having a car that very few others possess is very special.

If you get underneath a GT2, and also drive it in a track setting, there is one
hellofalot of differences vs 996TT. Don't get me wrong, I love my car but they
are not the same or really similar.

Same block on GT2/996tt = same RMS issues. Not much of a problem.

the myth is
1. Crankcase halves are not machined together, which causes an out of round seat for the seal.
2. GT2/GT3 use an evolution of the 993 crankcase & crank design, not the new one because it is not strong enough for racing.
