exhaust options

Looking for an exhaust for 996 Turbo. something that will add performance, weight loss, and a good sound at a reasonable price.

Any suggestions?

Also check out Cargraphic exhaust systems. Here's a couple of recent posts with video sound clips from 6speedonline member LSM's 996TT.

And Don't forget Fabspeed --

I am about to install the Sport/Quiet version on my TT Cab this week.

Here is the site:

www.fabspeed.com

They have sound clips there. Note that PCA did a blind Dyno Test & found it to be the most powerful TT system irrespective of price.

The Quiet version claims no resonance, is lightweight and relatively inexpensive (as these things go). And you can use the Factory quad tips with them.

I am installing it with the Stage One from EVO.

Deciding on an exhaust for the TT is very, very subjective and confusing. Some on this board claim resonance issues at various revs on the Fabspeed and others (tho others say none).

I spoke with the Fabspeed folks and they said if there is an issue that they would take it back and "tune it" if there are any issues.

Seem like pretty good guys.

Good luck

I've heard the Europipe, TechArt, Fabspeed, and PSE all in person and within a few minutes of each other. I must say that I like the TechArt the best with the Europipe pulling a close second. The TechArt has such a rich sound...for me it's a must have. I will most like do it in a couple of months.

My suggestion...go to a Porsche meet and listen them within a few minutes of each other.

Good luck.

I have the FVD 100 cat sport and love it. vipertestarossa took a ride in my car last week after buying/shopping for exhausts and I think he will agree that for a lighter 100 cat exhaust he hasn't seen 1 that comes close to the FVD..................................
They are a board sponsor and I deal with Bryan, he's great

Best all around performance, build quality, sound and 2 year warranty...Europipe Loud hands down. By the way, no other exhaust companies offer a warranty that I am aware of...

FAbspeed sport for performance and price, but found it to have more resonance than desireable IMHO, although great people to work with. Techart sport for sound. A little pricey, but my favorite on tt cab. Great sound at higher boost.

No mention of warranty on the site...

Besides, the expensive part, the cats are bought from another company. I doubt they will warranty another company's product...

Fabspeed DOES in fact have a lifetime warranty AND warranties the components. Nearly all companies warranty the components they use in the finished product (i.e., Ford, GM, Porsche or even Dell)

I have a GT2 Fabspeed Sport that I am going to put up for sale. It has less than 30 miles on it. It was just a little too loud for my tastes. I bought it from Stephen at Imagine Auto. Make me a reasonable offer...

Thanks
Chuck
