Maybe someone should post the meaning of hydroplaning. There seems to be some confusion in our midst.

Cool definition

Hydroplaning.
a. What is hydroplaning? Hydroplaning occurs during rain, (mostly hard rain), immediately after a hard rain or when other water covers the roadway. Hydroplaning occurs when water builds up under the automobile’s tires. Loss of steering and braking occurs which is a dangerous situation.

Best resolution to Hydroplaning is let off the accelerator, and hold the wheel straight. Avoid any abrupt maneuvers. If you need to brake, do not brake hard.

This has worked good for me

Hydroplaning can be fun, it feels like drifting except you create this beautiful wall of water on either side!

PSM and AWD cannot and do not defy physics. In a true hydroplane over standing water involving all four wheels, no system will save you other than your brain. In a true hydoplane, NEVER hit the brakes as there is NO friction circle, and do not suddenly lift the throttle as the tail will swap with the head. If there are no obstacles straight ahead like stopped traffic, be perfectly straight, ease off and let the water slow the car. Gently apply brakes if you see the wall of water dropping on the sides of the car. I did this at PDE on the skid pad in C2 996 at yaw and PSM cannot function just as it cannot function when the wheels are in the air. A true four wheel hydroplane on standing water of any sufficient size is similar to the car in the air or the car on a pure sheet of ice or the car on an oil slick or the car on thoroughly wet leaves. All of these are near frictionless surfaces. If you are stopped, PSM will prevent doing "doughnuts," and it will prevent drift with increasing G's in lateral acceleration. Whether a car is AWD or RWD makes ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in a four wheel hydroplane
