I know this is odd request, but where can i get a honest opinion besides a porsche enthusiastic.

I have located a vehicle that I like but before I actually fly down and check the vehicle out I would like to see if there is body near Studio City, CA that may be able to help me to check out the vehicle. I have asked pictures from the seller, but the picture's quality were pretty bad and I cannot make a true judgment from that.

2003 SY 911 turbo and supposedly have a stage 3 kit. I would like to know how is the car interior condition and does the engine sound funny..

that place is right across from speed gallery, one of the board sponsors-->.
maybe you can have one of them do a PPI?
they have tons of porsches at sports trend, looks like they just go to the auctions and get whatever they can...
i rarely ever trust used car dealerships, but i guess you can get lucky.
i think the safest would be to have a PPI though...

 

have them drop it off the speed gallery they are in studio city .. they will do a proper ionspection... especially on a "stage 3".... whatever that means.... Ill tell u for sure that a P car dealer will not know the difference.

 

Guys, thank you for the suggestion. I would definitely do PPI if the condition of the car is in good shape, clean exterior and interior ( no rips on leather and the flip up door handle part ).

 

Sports Trend is one of, if not the biggest, used porsche dealers on the west coast (or so they claim). Been there once when I was checking out a 993.

Unfortunately I won't be of much help to you since I don't know much about car engines and stuff. Best I can offer you is take clearer pics (if they would allow me to) and send them to you.

Can't go wrong with a proper PPI.

 

FYI, I think there is some common ownership between Speed Gallery and Sports Trend Auto Sales. Sports Trend does pick most of their cars from auction - a lot of Porsche lease returns. Have seen some very clean and not so clean cars there. Definitely have someone look at it for you before spending $$ on a PPI.

 

Probably you can ask your sales drive it to Mckenna Porsche Dealer, they have the 27 points inspection for FREE!! That's how I did to mine.

Thats great to know; i wish i was aware of this before my purchase.

I would work out some deal with speed gallery across the street, as many others have mentioned.

I saw that car online. It is on my short list, also.

 

I went to see a car there awhile ago. I spoke with the salesperson and asked specifically whether the car had any paintwork. Assured that it did not have any I went to see it.

Upon arrival, it was obvious the car had a few panels repainted and when I inquired they still said no. After a few more exchanges they finally said that it was repainted.

Be careful.

Speed Gallery and Sports Trend are "partners" on some deals....but Dan @ Speed Gallery is solid and there's no $ in the lot for him. Just call him or Sam and get the low down. I do know SG gets a lot of the referrals for upgrades, etc. They also have warranties you can buy for the cars which is essential. My buddy bought his 996 through Sprorts Trend and got the warranty and SG has done all warranty repairs and some extra bits...no dramas.

I rate SG, Dan and Sam w/two thubs up....FWIW...
