Chassis /drivetrain changes aside, it reminds me of the 996 update to the 997 . Different nose and headlights and twin post rear view mirrors but overall similar . Sorta like the change from the 348 to the 355 . I guess the real " new " cars will be the 998 and the 430 successor. Interesting how these two iconic cars ( and it's common man's version the Corvette , are synchronised , development wise from updates to all new versions.

Ferrari seems unable to avoid the token " retro " touches like everyone else including Porsche. ( See the 1950s inspired 612 Scaglietti ) Note the 420's " vertical " headlamps and the raised half-moon rear fender scoop - just like on the 1967 330 P4 !
