Installed ebay Intake plenum kit *Awesome*

I would think that the flow would be better with a smooth bore flexible tubing rather than the spiral wire hose. That spiral groove that transends the tubing is doing something, but is it a bad thing? I would think that the twist is too fast to help the air enter the compressor, who knows, is it even going the right way for that to help (???)

I also have this intake system...It works awesome! The quality is great, it fits perfectly and what you can see with the engine compartment open looks great. It is far more fairly priced then most all other Porsche performance parts. Along with my Speed Gallery kit I have...I feel you get the most bang for your $$$ by far! Great group of guys over there.

yup, but be careful.... what's true us that ***almost*** ANYTHING that enhaces airflow THROUGH the turbomotor will result in increased horsepower...
just make sure to do BOTH the intake ***AND*** the exhaust sides in order to get the gains you seek...
forget the $2K job on intake side unless you're going to do the exhaust and then the FLASH that runs more boost. many people just end up with LOUD exhaust or a colorful set of boost hoses or a shiny intake without "systemic reasons" for any of it...

the product looks good- I actually had one of the first FVD setups... I considered making my own as well.
I just got a kick out of the statement on ebay "Why pay over $2500-$4000 for an inferior kit from overpriced tuners? Superior product to the competition for less money!"
I would consider this product competion to the existing FVD plenum etc. and not the other way around. BTW, the FVD plenum is more like $1750 and it's made in Germany.
Considering that a US dollar is .60 cent to a EURO... I'm not surprised why its a lot more. Not to mention the import adds to the cost as well.
With all that said, I probably would buy this unit if I had it available back then.

I'm interested in this as well; lots of internal work!

right.... and to the guy who wondered "what's the dyno improvement on this" remember that if you run a stock car with this modd..... nothing..... but if you add exhaust, SOME improvment... and with ported headers, SOME more.... and then with headers, exhaust, and of course, FLASH then you get MAJOR JUICE and of course run some of that laughing gas.... Canadian 116 octane unleaded... and of course, if you already have everything ELSE above besides the intake plenum..... you'd get MORE at the margin since this would then be the weak link in the system... so there's too many "permutations" here in order to answer the question directly. The answer is that "it depends" so.... DO A SYSTEM with your modding or don't start. You'll save a ton of money by waiting vs. E-Baying your way to greatness.

right... so you start witha pristine $150K car@ 450hp an then invest $100,000 more in motor, transmission, axles wheels and tires, exhaust... and you could build a nitro-funny car for 50% of that and have the SAME engine life.... LOL...
heard of a few guys that have 35K+ miles on their GT700 kits with "internals" so WOW.... I'll do that instead! I don' care wat deee whaat mane saed... Ieeel juss copee dee BudMannnn.....

I think the weak link could be the hose and possible leak waiting to happen as the hose is exposed to heat and tight access between the firewall. other areas I would be concerned with is the possible hose slippage off the manifold as I didn't notice any hose barbs machined into the manifold. maybe dgreen has changed or improved the design since I last inquired about this system. I'm sure it will be fine for awhile, just how long it will last with out any leaks? There's a reason why Porsche designed a solid manifold back there.

Maybe you misunderstood my post. So i will reiterate: I am also interested in what the GT1000 kit includes.
