i know this is too old thread but i just saw it and id like to share my experience on the turbo timer which i fitted to my 996tt long time ago and as Highhats said it ,u cant lock the doors with key less button while its running u have to use the key into the lock to lock the doors . and after the engine is stoped for example 2 min's the passenger door will unlock . so the only way u can use it with out standing beside it is to park beside a wall on the passenger side :P

I used to be a one minute guy...but after reading this thread im going to be a two minute guy....my gf might like that better.

My son has a turbo timer on his Subaru wrx-sti and while it is an obvious beneficial add-on, it is pain in the neck. Locking issues; LOUD exhaust in the driveway, etc.

Just learn to count all your fingers and all your toes 6 times then turn ur car off and u'll be fine.

Or just drive gingerly for the last few minutes of your drive home w/o using the turbos. You'll get plenty of air flow to help cool things down and wont have to sit in your driveway waiting to turn it off.
