I was almost caught last night @ 2:15 am. Not another car on the road, nailed it from a stoplight, cop ran up behind me then swerved next to me. He asked what I was doing in a not so friendly tone. I had no response, he then said slow the F down and turned off to another street. I was halfway through 3rd before I slowed down to the limit of 35...he must have been on his way home... lucky monday i guess

Not a waste of time at all. Thanks for posting . Sentence seems excessively harsh!

The fastest speeding ticket in the world allegedly occurred in May 2003 in Texas. It was supposedly 242mph in a 75mph zone. The car was a Swedish-built Koenigsegg, which was involved in the San Francisco to Miami Gumball 3000 Rally. The fastest convicted speeder in the UK was Daniel Nicks, convicted of 175 mph on a Honda Fireblade motorcycle in 2000. He received six weeks in jail and was banned from driving for two years. The fastest UK speeder in a car was Timothy Brady, caught driving a 3.6-litre Porsche 911 Turbo at 172 mph on the A420 in Oxfordshire in January 2007 and jailed for 10 weeks and banned from driving for 3 years.

Pffft I've gone faster than 270 on normal roads. Never been caught though I think the worst they can do here is take away your car for 4 weeks :-P

i am suprised they stopped him. i have blown by two cops, once at about 140 ish and another time around 170 ish. they never even bothered to pull out... which is a good thing because i would of been in a deep pile of sh*t. even police officers have admitted to me that they just let outrageous speeding go and don't even bother.

Why bother pulling out? You are already a quarter mile away?

A friend was jailed for 5 hours for doing 200+ on the way to Vegas a couple years ago. Out ran the CHP helicopter and plane and they shut the highway down. He didnt even know he was being chased. They told him after they let him out that they might have to invest in new aircraft, lol

well after spending $$$$$ on a lawyer over a year and a half or so we got the film footage back, and the deal is if he gets another speeding ticket over the next 1-2 years then there will be jail time of i think 60 days.
