My car burned up
#32
Not sure. Im letting my Ins co and Attorney handle it. Im going to try and stay out of it.
It was an 03TT. 42000 miles. Ive had is 6 months. Bought from Porsche dealer and have extended warranty.
Car just had a new tranny, then a new clutch. Engine has been out 2 times in the last 4 months. Was well serviced.
Im waiting for the fire department report tomorrow and then file an offical claim with State Farm.
As soon as thats done and I find out whos a fault, i will let everyone know.

wow, glad you're ok and my condolences on the car. I know first hand what it's like to see your car go up in flames. Luckily I caught my engine fire just in time to save it and only had to replace electrical wires, hoses, fuel lines etc. Good luck on your claim and hopefully you get a favorable payoff. Don't let this sway you away from Porsche's in the future as this is obviously a very rare occurrance.

Sorry to hear man. I lost 4 cars thanks to a house fire earlier this summer so I know how shocking it is.
At the end of the day though, insurance will cover you and you'll be able to find another... be glad you didn't dump a lot of money into the car. It would be even more nerve wrecking to see a GT700 or a RUF go up in flames. And there are plenty examples around to upgrade to.

Mambodave,
Glad to know that you made it out of the car. Things like that realy suck, but metal could always be replaced. Best of luck with getting a replacement or even better, refunded money to buy a 997 tt.
