New SpeedTech Cross-Flow Exhaust Announcement
We have been working on a new "cross-flow" design exhaust for the past several months and have recently concluded the testing and development phase. The final version is in production and will be available in a 2-3 weeks. It will be called the SpeedTech "X-cellerator" cross-flow exhaust to differenciate it from our standard twin cannister 70mm Hi-Flow exhaust, which will remain available as a less expensive option. The X-Ccllerator systems will be offered in a full 3" loud version and a 2.5" quiet version. The X-cellerator 2.5 quiet can be used as a full 3" race system, if 3" muffler bypass pipes are utilized, enabling the abilty to go from "quiet" to "race" in one system - and it only takes a few minutes to go back and forth. In addition to several sound levels, we aslo offer a variety of tip options:
1) Large single tip. Mirror polished w/ rolled edge
2) True dual tips. Mirror polished.
3) Re-use OEM tips for factory look
Note: Black ceramic coating of any tip is available as an option.

The SpeedTech X-cellerator Exhaust is a modular system that utilizes a V-flange for quick disconnect of the various components. The system offers 100 cell ultra hi-flow catalytic converters, cat bypass pipes, muffler bypass pipes and the cross-flow design muffler. The user can choose from four possible configurations and order it in any of these combinations or as a complete system with all options:
Our most popular system consists of our 100 cell Hi-Flow catalytic converters, mid-pipe, muffler and tips. Another popular option is our "off road" or "RACE" cat-less X-cellerator cross-flow system w/ choice of tips.
Then there are two straight pipe options:
A) 100 cell cats with full 3" muffler bypass pipes
B) Cat bypass pipes (include 02 bungs) with full 3" muffler bypass pipes
We have put together a couple of short videos and posted links below. This should give you an idea of the look and sound of our new exhausts - the quiet and loud versions. As for the sound, the quiet is a very comfortable system that allows conversation, phone use and music enjoyment while enjoying the sporty sound of the exhaust in the background. The loud is more intrusive to the cabin and exhibits a very aggressive race car type note. Both versions sound fantastic and provide a very sporty, GT3 like sound. I have tested and heard a lot of Porsche 996TT exhaust systems and this system sounds absolutely awesome in person!

The sound is all together different. The 70mm sounds very good and sporty. It has a throaty, aggressive sound and is one of the better sounding 996TT aftermarket exhausts that I have heard.
The cross-flow has a completely different sound. It's hard to explain, but I think it sounds more exotic, more race like - "really cool sounding" would sum up my thoughts ...I am all smiles when driving the car with this new cross-flow design. It is not as loud as the 70mm and the tone is a little higher. I have had a few exhausts on my car over the years and test driven a few others. Nothing has excited me like this crossflow, I absolutely love it. And the option to switch to cat bypass pipes or muffler bypass pipes makes the system more interesting from an owners use standpoint. Installing the muffler bypass pipes for a Saturday morning coffee run is a really nice option to have - it's loud, but fun. Yet, you can easily go back to a respectable sound level in minutes.
