Coilover Group Buy for 996C2 Guys Only $1200
Thought I would reach out to the 996 Carrera guys were my Porsche world started from our nutso Supercharged 996 Here. I have had the chance to use alot of suspension systems over the years including Bilstein, JIC, KW, KSport, Cusco, Tein, and H&R.
I understand that not everyone is rolling around on a GrandAm budget. So I would like to offer a Group Buy Price on these KSport Kontrol Pro Coilovers for the Porsche 996 C2 99-05.
The Kontrol Pro features 36 way adjustable dampening. This means you have 36 clicks of adjustment to have the coilover be soft to hard depending on your driving style and ride likeness. KSport coilovers include front aluminum strut tops with adjustable camber for those that want up to 3degrees of negative camber. The rears have upper aluminum/pillowball mounts. These mounts give you much more steering feedback compared to the stock rubber mounts. The coilovers feature a helper and standard 60mm ID spring. The shock has been valved according to the car and the spring rates it is using. Spring Rates for the front are 6kg / 336lbs and rear maintains 9kg / 504lbs.
How would I rate these coilovers. This is a great start coilover for someone that is on a limited budget but wants improved handling. Adjustable ride height allows you to set the car where you want. These coilovers are definitely stiffer then stock, but when you are pushing your car to the limits on the street or track, you will be impressed.
I do recommend going with some GT3 or H&R sway bars and the addition of our Agency Power sway bar links and/or Control and Toe Arms for those that want the ultimate in track handling. Contact me for these package prices. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/s...8&class_9=2336
The Group Buy price requires NO MINIMUM people and is extended through Oct 31, 2010. KSport offers a 1 year warranty on their parts. Retail on this coilover is $1600.

installed
Thanks to Dan and his great customer service. I installed these a few weeks ago and had 4 track days and 1 autocross. These Ksport coil overs feel great. They are more comfortable than the stock suspensions on the street and handle great on the track. I'd definitely recommend them.

More details on my ksport
Another member asked me for more info on my ksport, I thought I may as well post my response here in case someone wants to know.
I think they are really good coilovers especially for the price. The Ksport customer service is very helpful as well. I've called them a few times and they were easy to get a hold of.
Camber plates - I have them set near center to get my -1.5 front. The set screws did slip a couple of time on the track. I'd suggest to use 6 set screws per plate instead of 4 if you track your car. For street driving 4 screws would be fine. You cant adjust the set screws on the plates by opening the hood cuz the strut mount cut outs are too small. So you have to go from the bottom of the strut mount to move the plates. But since you can adjust the front camber by using the strut mount. you can leave the plates alone for the most part.
The dampening adjustment is easy up front since you just have to remove a screw and cover. The rear adjustment requires removing the rear carpet which isnt that bad.
I have dampening set at
Street:
17F(from soft) and 25R (from soft) and they ride perfect/more comfortable than stock
Track:
19/20F 29/30R for track and they were excellent.
The install took my shop 5hrs plus an alignment. They lowered my car by almost 2" which is a lot. They said they couldnt lower it less without putting some compression in the front since the fronts do not have bottom mount adjustments. My final height is 24.8"F and 25"R which work great for me. Good luck.
