I'm curious as to why people are still recommending SS brake lines? I assume you do realize that the brake lines in the porsche ARE steel braided, and quite possibly SS, to boot. They haven't used "just reinforced rubber" in years. Their lines don't expand any more than aftermarket SS lines, and the poetential for issues with aftermarket SS lines is very real. If you're just going for the bling factor, then fine, have a ball...but any perceived performance enhancement is a placebo effect OR the consequence of bleeding and replacing brake fluid that needed it regardless of the hoses. The OE ones are just black rubber coated for abrasion and possible corrosion. There have been documented SS line failures from lines with exposed SS braid that collected enough abrasive sand, brake dust, etc, that the rubber/teflon under the SS actually wore through...now what I HAVE been trying to find out is if there is a recommended life span for the OE lines, either in miles or time.
