Hey girlie, I think you might be getting mixed up with getting rid of the orange plastic in the headlights assembly. I beleive it is the blinkers. People break off the orange plastic inside the headlights and put in silver bulbs but flashes yellow... now the whole headlights is clear.
Note the slight orange "inside" the assembly

Hi redridge!
thanks for the quick reply. the 996 is a 1999. I believe the entire lower blinker is orange, i think it's the outside and theinside. so i don't think i can break anything out, as the entire piece is orange. i'm pretty sure, anyway? btw....your pcar is gorgeous! want to trade? hehe!

Euclid is infamous around these parts
You'll have to replace the entire headlight. Luckily you can find them relatively cheap without the orange "stripe" along the bottom edge. Makes the car look infinitely better.

Problem is litronics went up to $2.5k/pair recently...........just buy clear halogens $400-600/set used and put a HID kit/$100-150 on,OEM ones aren't worth $2.5k.
Do not use HID kit for regular reflector headlights, they do not project the lights on the road but rather all over the place and blinding on coming traffic. If you are going to go with HID, you will need to have projectors such as the litronics from porsche. Litronics can be had for $1300ish new.

I agree with the above except that Litronics prices just skyrocketed. I am very thankful I picked mine up a few years ago for $1000, sounds like when I sell the car I will be able to get out what I paid for them at this rate.

hi yoops,

i believe there is a "merchandise selling/wanted" catagory in the forums. have you tried posting a want ad? just a thought.

i think i may do the same for the clear headlights as well.
