I've had lots of members tell me that Remus is the aftermarket exhaust with the least drone, you can see it here :

I'm still debating though, Tubi:drool:

I looked at Remus early on...no systems for the 99-01 3.4l cars.

Don't all 996 models share the same exhaust layout?

As I've got a pair of AP mufflers already fitted and working well, is there anything I can do to reduce the resonance without swapping them out for others?
Some thoughts I've had: -
1) May be because of the large space above the small mufflers? Fill the gap with heat proof insulating mat like that in house walls.
2) May be coming through the mounting points? How could I isolate them?
3) Is the muffler itself vibrating? Maybe bolt heavy weight to muffler?

Not at all sure about any of these - for example even if (1) was the right answer, it would be a moisture trap and may lead to rusting etc.

Anyway - anyone have any thoughts on reducing resonance on an exhaust setup without replacing components?

Hey Jst, I think Remus, or rather Romulus has a system :
http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/pors...1r-p-1173.html

It says for 3.4L, and as far as i'm concerned 97 up is 996 model.

Hmmm...I don't know how I missed that. Not a huge fan of the tips but if there is less resonance than what I am running I would give them a try.

Anyone have these?

They don't really show the tips, another angle would be nice.
Judging from other posts, Remus seems to be a quiet tuner with little/no resonance.

It seems to me that the tips shown are just a straight pipe, maybe 3" in diameter with a rolled edge. Kind of plain...but at this point, if they sound nice and have little to no resonance at cruising RPMs, tips are the least of my worries!

4.02 inches actually it's what they say the diameter of the tips is.
