Coverage is the same as the original warranty. Basically Bumper to Bumper with rental car and tire coverage. (Pro-rated)

I don't think the original warranty covered clutch wear/tear so I'm guessing this doesn't either. Most of the aftermarket warranties are well worth it to cover the expensive cost of repair/replacing stuff that goes wrong, but I'm curious about why you bought the warranty now - with less than 20k in mileage, was your warranty running out due to the year on the car? If so, I don't think $3k for a 60k/5yr warranty is bad at all...

The orignal warranty ran out on Oct 23rd. I bought it for the Peace of Mind that if something went bad I would be covered. I figure it's like insurance, you're paying for the security of being covered. I purchased the warranty at Mkenna Porsche in Southern California. I was told this is a new program they are trying out to increase sales. Warranty can be used at any dealer and independent porsche mechanic if so desired. Also covers towing.

I'm in HI- bought 02 996 C2 coupe 17k miles from friend in 7/07-factory warranty ended 6/06. Tried many on line warranty co, couldn't find any that would cover my car in Hawaii. Fletcher-Jones is HI Porsche dealer- bought plantinum, exclusionary warranty from them- Fidelity Warranty Service-6 yr from date of purchase- total miles 72k miles- cost $4400. $50 deductible, waived if serviced at dealer. Could have gotten 5 yr for about $600 less.
It's already covered repair of spare key remote that wasn't opening the car which wouldn't have been paid by CPO coverage.
A bit higher than i expected but thought it was decent that i could even get coverage on a 5 yr old low mileage car- i'm now covered for 6 yrs or 72K.

No warranty covers wear items such as your clutch.

I bought an after-marked warranty through RUF, $3500 for 3 years, 36,000 miles, so I'd say you had a pretty good deal. It's a full bumper-bumper.

They cover towing and rental, with a $200 deductible.
