AGLA Steering wheel Lots of Pics
Well I got it back! WOW. I actually changed my order to black stitching a few weeks ago to match the black on the new leather air bag. Well they forgot about that change. I will wait a few weeks and see how I like it. The work AGLA did is FANTASTIC! The pictures do not do the wheel justice. I am not sure if the leather is going to shrink? Because the grips are a little loose. Not much but they could be tighter. There is a distict difference between the two wheels. The thicker wrap feels so much better to the touch. I beleive the techart wheel has more aggressive grips but for $350 you can't beat it. I am waiting for the final numbers from AGLA after doing the recover. I will let you know how to place orders by Monday.
In the mean time you can email Diane at AGLA with questions or to get on the list they only have 5 996 loaner wheels.

Re: AGLA Steering wheel Lots of Pics
Defintely want to see it in person. It does not look much larger than the factory wheel in those pics. What material did they add to made the wheel bigger.

Do you know if they will be able to add another layer of leather or two layers to match the thickness of the Tech Art Steering wheel? Overall it looks really good, I was just hoping for something even thicker than stock, like the original picture your posted.

They can add/do whatever you want I don't have a measuring caliper Lucent may have one so we can see the actual difference. If anyone at the meet has the Techart we can measure theirs too. It is definitely much thicker the pictures are deceiving.

It looks like there's several wrinkles--like it wasn't sewn tight enough--at 2:00, 6:00 and 9:00, and you can see the shadow of the original seams at 5:00 and 7:00, plus the leather at the seams isn't feathered well, so you can see the line from the leather folded under. Not the quality I'd want in my car.

I am sending back the wheel this week it is a bit loose in a few spots which is leading to wrinkles. I am also swapping the silver stitching for black as I had requested.

Earlier this week He said he should have mine done by the end of next week sometime. They have been playing arround with different options. He agreed that the wrap was to loose. He also took my comments into consideration. It was not thick enough and felt too soft. He is using a thicker leather this go arround. There were some other little details I asked him to correct. I would imagine your wheel will go out shortly after mine.
