smoke..... any suggestions????

So I come out of my house this morning and see a trail of what seems to be water coming from my exhaust tip (driver side only). Then I notice a second trail that looks like it was from the day before. I don't think it's water becuase it stained from the day before. So started up my car and some white smoke was coming out of the drive side exhaust. I understand that sometime when it's cold you can see some smoke, but would it come out of both sides? What do you guys think?

With the oil level on the high side, it happened twice to me that oil got in the intake from the crankcase vent when cornering hard. The oil separator just could not stop that from happening.

Anyway, both times, the next couple of cold start, the car smoked quite a bit (a lot for 30 seconds).
I checked at the back and 90% of the smoke was coming out from the driver's side.
Don't ask me why, I don't know!!

Did you just get your oil changed? I would go with the too much oil theory.

Mine is different. Every time I drove hard with the car in high RPM then start up cold I got a big puff of white smoke for about 15 seconds.

no I didn't just change my oil and the oil level is perfect, right where is should be. The liquid dripping out of the tip doesn't seem to be oil, it's pretty thin.

Just to clarify my point for you or others, when I say oil on the high side, I mean at the top mark, not overfilled. At that level, oil could get in the intake when cornering hard or smoking a bit on cold start after a hard drive.

I am now keeping my oil halfway between the marks on the dipstick, never higher. Did not have smoke for 6,000 miles.

Huh! I didn't think having oil up to the top mark on the stick will does this. Interesting to say the least.

I keep mine halfway between the marks as well. Maybe I should just take it back to the dealer.

I keep my oil half way as well. I just had an O2 sensor go bad on one side and I noticed before it sent the check engine lite on that it had more moisture coming out on the side that went bad. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Yup, If i keep the oil to the top line I will get smoke on startup, but if I keep in a line or 2 down...no smoke..Its weird but thats the way it is for me too.

Don't do a DE

Just did a DE with the oil level full..boy did it smoke on startup. Great for pest control. Old timers say keep 2-3 bars low...
