No More Fabspeed. Pse (hacked) Rules!!!

I just replaced my Fabspeed muffler and installed PSE (hacked) system. Sound better than Fabspeed. I should have done this long ago and not waste $$ on Fabspeed.

I keep hearing about this PSE Mod. I've searched this site and renntech and found nothing of substance. Did you modify a stock 996 exhaust or 996 porsche sport exhaust? Is there a DIY? Any help would be appreciated.

I modified the stock 996 cans. I was EZ to do, the local muffler shop charged me $120 for both cans. If you do it, get the 02-04 996 cans they give you a loud sound than 99-01 996 cans.

Tell the muffler shop that you want a 2.25 in pipe either stainless steel or Alumize pipe. Ask them to cut a 2.25 in. hole at the outlet pipe and one at the can nipple. That's it. Look at the attached pic. to get the idea.

to solve the weight problem. use titanium pipe instead

so is this how stock PSE is setup? Is the throttle response different?

Weight problem, all 996, 997 come with these cans. I just mod. up to get better sound for the money. And it turned out to be one hell of a mod. Sound much better than my Fabspeed at idle and WOT. Sound very close to the real PSE at a fraction of cost.

i did the same mod on my 02 996 (with a 3.6L catback). Sound is a little louder but nothing to write home about compared to stock. i am amongst the minority though, most ppl love the PSE mod. I am just not convinced it's worth the hassle. I spent only $150 though to add the pipe.

I know that GHL sound louder than mine, but compared to my Fabspeed that I bought along with the headers I have to say that I am happier now with the new cans than last week when I still have the Fabspeed on my car.

It's all come down to individual taste and preference. I had heard Gemballa, Ruf, TechArt, Cargraphic, GHL, AP, etc.. so I'm pretty much have an idea of the best sound to my ears. And for the money, nothing can come close.

Post a sound/video clip

I did it too. It doesn't exactly sound like the PSE, but about 70-80%. It only cost me about $60. My friend help me cut and weld it.

Here is a clip.

Did the same mod here, about 70-80% of the real thing but for $250 including install, it's well worth it.
