Modded 996 vs. 996 w/ x51
#16
I have to call BS on this. I have a well modded 996 that dyno'd at 262whp, which equates to 314whp (vs. Factory 296). All my mods only added about 18hp increase. Max HP is only half the picture, as my useable RPM and Torque curves were MUCH better. Car feels TONS more than 18hp faster. With 100 octane I can run with a 997S. I wish I had dyno'd it with 100 in her.
Are you sure that's not Bhp, or adjusted Crank Horsepower. My old 944 turbo with a modded turbo and lindsey racing MAF was pushing 240whp on TPC's dyno and on a roll that car would eat 996's. Maybe there are huge dyno differences or maybe that RSS Plenum is that good. But my car flys. Of course, it is only 27XX lbs!
PS - sorry FLY, not trying to bust your ***** - just can't see the diff.

Thanks!
NICE DYNO, if you notice it is flywheel horsepower, NOT rwhp, or rear wheel horsepower. THis is very understandable as my car makes about 314rwhp. Sorry for the mis-understanding. I thought you were suggesting at the wheels. This makes perfect sense now.
