I need you opinions on sports cats...
I'm thinking about getting a set of sports cats for my 99 C2. I was going to get cargraphic 200 cell sports cats for $2000 but then I found some max speed performance one on ebay for $799. They are 200 cell cats as well. What would you guys do?

If you stay with 200 cell cats you should be OK with CEL. Another route to take is finding a local shop that offer REVO reflashing and ask them to reprogram the ECU for higher tolerance. Should cost between $50 to $100 service fee.
Regarding HP, there is minimal HP gain. No seat in the pant.

I put 100 cell sport cats and new O2 sensors along with mufflers and headers on my car and never had a CEL. I did disconnect the battery while I did it though. I think the ECU uses pre-stored baseline parameters initially, and then updates those as it collects more data as the engine runs.

From the research and questions I've asked, if you stick with 200 cell cats you'll be fine. I think it's hit or miss if you go with 100 cell cats. I'm planning to stick with 200 cells. I just want to know if anybody has used max speed cats, besides Fly 996. They are way cheaper than cargraphics but I don't know about quality. I don't have a problem dropping coin on good product but if I can save some money for somthing else, (GIAC flash for example), and get a the same product, why not.

My mechanic tells me that as far as exhaust mods are concerned, I will get the most hp for the dollar by going to 200 or 100 cell cats on my year 2000 996.....do you guys agree and what do you think the hp increase will be?

Awe cats here and yes they do add power. In fact this maybe the only item in the exhaust that adds noticeable power.Be prepared for a louder exhaust note especially if you have aftermarket mufflers.

Really? In there discription, maxspees says there cats are made of T304 stainless steel.
