I was filling up my 02 Targa every 3 days and I have a 12 mile commute to work! But it was Tiptronic which seemed to be a factor...

I think I'm right at 16 mpg or so for mixed use for a stock '00 C2 cabrio, but I drive the car like a granny. What maintenance can be done to improve these numbers?

Make sure your tire pressures are good... low tires can reduce mileage by several percent.

Highway at 60mph or so I got 29mpg on a 140 mile trip! If I up the speed to 80-100mph, drops down to 22mpg. City driving with some occassional blasts to 125mph is about 15mpg. All this calculated by dividing actual miles driven by the gallons put into the tank. Apparently the OBC (I don't have it activated) is a tad more optimistic, especially on the Cayennes. Test drove a Cayenne Turbo and the OBC stated I averaged 8.02mpg and that was without pushing it!!

I've started tracking my very closely since June and I'm surprised on the crappy results. 13.88 MPG. Gotta love the car!

I get about 19 - 20 mpg around town, 25 - 27 mpg on the highway.

I track it all on a spreadsheet.

Naw not really, we use the On-Board-Computer for that. Actually tracking gas mileage is a good indication of engine health.

If it was about money, then I would haven't bought a Porsche.........
