Question 996 Cab TIP Novice again! Lengthy, SORRY!!!!

Sorry I keep starting new threads but I cannot activate my account.

The dealer that wouldnt give me the info on the 2003 is at Manhattan Motor Cars. I tried emailing and calling again to no avail so now I am in contact with two dealerships, one in Long Island and one in NJ. (I don't want to buy a car far away because I have to trade one in).

Anyway, the NJ dealer has the following:

Silver w/ black top
Standard leather
Zenon package
Tip
Heated Seats
18 Alloy Wheels
Caps w/colored crest
PSM
HI FI
Windstop Deflector
Mats w/lettering
Rear Center Console

The total is $88,215 and he told me $85,715. This dealer is telling me that there is only 20 more Cab Tip's in the country. Personally, I would pay $80,000. Also, this dealer said I can get an interest rate of under 4% because I have good credit.

The LI dealer has the following:

Black w/black top
Standard leather
Tip
Xenon
18 in Alloy Wheels
Caps w/colored crest
Bose
Crest in Headrest
Power Seats
Beige mats
Alum. shift/brake

Total is $89,305 and this is the guy who told me that I would never get $5000 off. I mentioned some of the info I heard on the forum (about the new 997 etc) and this guy said thats not the case for Tips, especially now that the summer is here. This guy quoted me an interest rate of 4.90%.

Anyway, I am going to both dealers tomorrow to check it out. I guess I can also use some advice on how to use them to my advantage. What is one gives me a great deal on the spot? Do I take it or go to the other? Both of the cars above have different options that I am interested in.

Sorry this is so long but you guys here are SO educated on this stuff and I would love to hear feedback.

Thank you in advance.

As someone said before, time to find a new dealer. If you search this forum, there are many people that have reported positive sales experiences and great prices / deals. Most (not all) of the people looking for a new Porsche now are waiting for the 997 so the basic 996s (non GT, C4S, etc) are not moving and when they do at a nice up front discount. just my $.02

What does having a trade-in have to do with buying from a dealer farther away? I ordered my car, the way I wanted it, with a trade, and was able to get more than 10k off list. It is my opinion that you look for another dealer, and get the car equipped the way you want it. I would doubt that there are only 20 Cab. Tip's available. Good luck, and don't fall for the dealers B.S.

If you are absolutely set on getting one of those two, get the one with PSM. I would not buy a Porsche without it and it cannot be retro - fitted.

I still think you can do better by looking outside your area, even of you have to sell your car and take less for it locally. If you are going to trade it, you might as well sell it for wholesale - that's all the dealer is going to give you. Then you can look for a car anywhere,

Honestly, I do not want the bother of selling my car locally. My husband and I work long days and especially in Bklyn, everyone lowballs.

I am going to call other dealers and see what they have.

Thank you for all your help.
