why don't very many ladies seems to know how to drive a manual? don't they have a desire to learn? when i was 16 years old (back in the 90's) i wanted to learn. the reason being is that i noticed all the sporty cars were usually all manuals.

also, what if you were stuck in a situation where you needed to drive a manual for some reason? you just have to be useless or be stuck because you can't? IMO...all ladies should learn how to drive one.

just wondering?
BG - I agree with you totally! My first car when I was 16 was a manual VW bug. Killed the engine a few times trying to get it home! Now I drive my 6 speed Porsche, have a 6 speed 997TT on the way, and even my Mercedes c-class daily driver is a manual 6 speed (I looked hard for one with a manual which was not easy!). IMO all ladies should learn also!

The first time I took her for a Pcar fun run meet through the Santa Cruz mountains, we had to pull over so she could puke. Now she's afraid to get in it much less drive it....I kinda like it that way.

My wife *hates* driving mine. Says its too loud, too bumpy, too low, too ... Of course, that is 'cause she is used to driving a Landcruiser that is none of the above. Your problem is that she has a sports car and likes it. Allowing that drive could be a slippery slope.

I have let girls drive my RS6, m3 and 325...the m5 NO ONE but me has driven, and the 996tt is never really around the house as its stored in THE garage.

Unless there is truly no coverage, why not? Hell, I know the one I let drive my RS6 was very "appreciative"...

Yes let her drive it take her to a track day and you'll both have a great time, but don't teach her let someone else makes for a more peaceful ride home :>)

My wife has driven all my cars. She drives a stick and is a good driver, so why wouldn't I?
My guess is the same guys that don't drive in the rain are the same one's that don't let the girlfriends or wives drive
If it were an Enzo, CGT, etc... I might understand.

Cheers,
Stan

Euclid,

You win the prize!

I was waiting for someone to respond with the Girlfriend/Yes; Wife/No response and it only took to the 8th page of the thread .

Actually if you read the original post, it says ...."the girlfriend of wife".....

My thinking is that if I had a wife and she had a girlfriend, I think I would let her do whatever she wanted .

I am so mature.
