installing PSS9's myself?

How hard is this to do? I know I will immediatly take it to the dealer for the alignment but could a person install these in their own garage, or do I need some type of special tools or a certain kind of lift? I have torque wrenches and all the normal tools!

thanks,

Mike

You'll need the spring compressor and impact gun to get the top mounts off of the stock suspension and onto the new units....and really the impact gun is not 100% necessary but makes removal of the top nut much easier as without the impact gun it tends to just spin the shock shaft. Those are really the only "special" tools you'll need for the job. It's really not that difficult as long as you take your time.

It's fairly easy, and Audi is correct, the only essential tool is a spring compressor which you can rent from AutoZone on the cheap.

You guys make me want to tackle this job but do you know where I can download some directions. I have a 996 parts manual but it does not have any section regarding suspension!

Thanks,

Mike

There's an install thread over on Renntech for the M030 that will be a pretty good guide. Obviously it'll be a touch different since you're using coilovers, but the same principals apply as far as procedure and sequence.

Thanks, I will check it out! I get a little nervous doing something like this but it is not rocket science. I am sure I can figure out.
