Driving in the Rain? Yes/No??

Basically I dont head out in the rain, but, sure have been caught in a few storms on the way-back-home. (I'll admit that I check the weather first if at all possible)
I would stay this. The one trip we too last year from GA down to FL, we got caught in some VERY heavy storms. That car was planted, the wipers worked great........ and at no time did I even think the car was unsafe. (In-fact I still think the C4S is an excellent car). No matter what anyone thinks about PSM, its unbelievable in dry and wet.

with all the changes in the atmospheric levels etc i don't think you guys should even drive them in the sun; in fact just own them and don't drive them at all!
on a serious note - now i wouldn't drive my old Alfa in the rain even though i lived in Vancouver. i was too afraid of an electrical short and it leeked everywhere! now that is why not to get wet imo.
on the flip side, if you are never driving in the rain you must spend a lot of time watching the weather channel. It also has to be better then the one up here because i don't know how many times i have gone out on what is supposed to be a dry day and end up in thunderstorms??????

she may be my baby, but she's meant to be driven. Rain or shine..... and occasionally snow (but I do NOT enjoy dragging her through that). Like it was mentioned before, it just means I have to wash and wax her a bit more

Although not on-topic........ the one thing I think most owners may not realize is how great of a car it is. (meaning some just sit in the garage, out to dinner......and never really "drive" the car). Dont' mean abuse it, but man-oh-man, every chance I get to take a drive in the north GA mountains (spirited) I do. Take the car to an AutoX or five....... take it on a trip, enter into a car show.........yet always keep it spotless and looking brand new.
Just the pure connection between driver, car, and road is worth it! (I bet the C4S is a blast on some fresh snow)

These cars are fabulous in the rain! I used my C4S as a daily driver here in Seattle where it rains all the time. Then I started hearing about other Pcar owners never taking theirs in the rain and I started feeling guilty - like it was wrong. And the mileage nearly nothing on cars that were many years old. SO, this year I bought a daily driver and put my Pcar in the garage. It has been there for nearly two months (except for a drive on a rare sunny day). Well, today it was time to take my car to the Porsche dealer to sell on consignment (I have a MY08 997TT being built in February). I drove my car for maybe the last day today in the pouring down rain most of the day. As I did, I said, what a WASTE that I haven't been driving my car the past few months. It handled so well and it is so much fun to drive in any weather. when my new TT arrives, the daily driver goes. When you spend that much money on a car, I say ENYOY it - it is your money, it depreciates everyday, and it does no good sitting in a garage. DRIVE IN THE RAIN - WITH A SMILE!

I loved driving my 996TT in the rain. In California, when its sunny the idiots drive 30 mph over the speed limit and when it rains those same idiots drive 30 mph under.
I love the confidence that AWD instills in the driver in the wet conditions.

Lot's of snow and ice here in Idaho this month have made it difficult to navigate the roads in my daily driver C2.. but the P car does surprisingly well except up hill from a stop. Not like any car really does well on ice, but I had a little trouble just getting up the driveway tonight after we had about 3 inches of snow.

Of course!
Where I live, it rains every day of the year for 8 months straight, so I guess you know what my answer is! At the end of the day, its just a car. That said, if I have the choice to take my wife's truck, I take that instead. Lots of standing water around here and with wanna be R comps on the car, lets just say it gets very slippery when wet

Had 5 of them and when it rains here in S Florida it can get hairy as well, no worries though just dont go through deep puddles if its slammed to the ground.

Never in the rain. No one knows how to drive in the rain in Socal. First rain of the season usually results in dozens of solo and multicar crashes with lots of fatalities. I stick the back roads with the MBZ or BMW and avoid the carnage of the freeways.
