Is there a safe way to get all four corners up on jack stands?
I need to get all four wheels off the ground at the same time.
I've got a floor jack, the stock jack, and four jackstands.
I know there is a central jack point on the bottom of the motor. I've heard the front is a little more sketchy.
The thing that makes me nervous is that the top of the jack stands is concave, like it's supposed to fit on a frame rail or something.
The stock jack points are really small and it doesn't seem like the top of the jack stands would be stable on those tiny jack points, especially when you cranking up the opposite side to get the other two stands under.
I plan on jacking up rear points to get the front stands under, and then jacking up the motor point to get the stands under the rear points. Is there a secure way to make sure those stands don't slip on the stock lift points. Is there a better way to do this? Besides having a lift
Any ideas?
One other thing, what is the proper torque on the wheel lugs?

not to hard at all. especially if you have a C2. jack up the front as high as you can and put in the 2 jack stands. then for the rear use your stock jack and floor jack to lift the rear as evenly as possible. you can ad jack stands to the rear if you want. set torque wrench to 110. good luck....

just to clarify, are you saying jack up the right rear till the right front gets high enough to get a stand under there...and then repeat for the other side?
what do you think a good spot would be to put the stands as a backup on the rear?
have you run into any problems with using jack stands on the stock lift points. most stands have curved tops and they don't appear to be very secure when used with the tiny stock jack points.

i will make it easier for you. take your jack and in the center front of your car there is a cross member. put a piece of 2x4 wood on the jack and jack it from that point, this way maybe be a little difficult to reach if your car is lowered. then put the jack stand on the the sides for the front. do the same for the rear. once you start jacking up the car you will be able to take a better look underneath so you place the jack stands in the correct place. it should seem pretty logical from this point. and yes it is 110 lbs. just call me when your doing it. good luck.

Just gotem up. I jacked up the back high enough to get the stands under the fronts and then used the center jack point in the rear to get the rear stands under the stock points. seems to be okay. I wouldn't start jumping up and down on the car, but it appears to be stable enough

I have a 01 996 tt i need to lift in a simaler way. Just got the car and have never lifted one of these before. My car is slammed and i only have a couple of inches to the ground from the front lip spoiler. I'm assuming i first need to drive up onto some staggered 2x4's or ramp just to be able to get the jack under. What am i looking for for the rear engine jack point?
Are you saying it is safe to jack the rear completely by this point and not damage the engine in any way?............Thanks G

I only used that one spot on the bottom of the engine to get the rear up on jackstands, so that I could get all four jackstands under. That's where the mechanic at the dealer told me to do it. He even put a mark on the spot with a sharpie.
What do you mean by the crossbar? Do you have a pic?

I looked at the crossmenber and it looks to be insufficient in cross section @ center (apr. 30-35mm) to pick up a 3500LB car. I did see marks on the center of the case where, S-Car-Go Racing who build the car, and previous techs jacked up the car at that location.
