Ok...so the new owner picked up the car yesterday FROM ALASKA!!!! The wife and I looked for something both of us could drive. The requirements...under 30k. FUN. FAST. RELIABLE. good looking and comfortable....so I picked up this......
2006 Lexus IS350 with 18000 miles. New MSRP was $47K. Got it for a STEAL. Black/Black, Aluminum accents (NO WOOD!) RWD, 306HP V6...paddle shifters, sport tuned suspension, sports package, Mark Levinson Audio system, Nav, push button starter, keyless entry, bluetooth, Sat. radio, heated and cooled sport seats, power EVERYTHING.....its a hoot to drive, handles great and it'll run forever....even when I do get something with a few turbos in it, I'll probably keep this as well. I'll still be lurking.....

Congrats on the car. i just got an 07 IS250 about a month ago. i too got a great deal on it. i would have liked the 350 but i needed AWD for my DD and couldn't get in in the 350. I would like another 100hp in my car though.

I feel ya...not sure why they only make the 250 in AWD....I drove the 250 and the 100hp makes a BIG difference....

Ouch! With talk about getting something with turbos in your original post, it just seems like an IS350 is below the performance curve for you.

My bad...well the performance is VERY CLOSE to a 996, so I am not losing out there....I think I said EVENTUALLY I will get something with a few turbos....but later this year maybe...It was going to be a Mini S, but I found this and actually like it more...100+ more HP, RWD, LOADED...super comfy and probably LESS than a similarly equipped Mini S...

While i can't condone switching from a P car to a Jap car, any good del is a good deal, esp if you and the wife are happy, so congrats! Just curious about the paddle shift trann; how are the shifts? Any lag? Or does it just snap into the next cog without missing a beat? Does it blip the throttle on down shifts? Are you happy with the tunes?
PLEASE stay awake while you drive.....

Well, my experience so far is EXCELLENT. Its a fast, comfortable and EASY car to drive....I have not hit any canyons or anything to truly assess its handling, but in my week or so of driving it, its a GREAT little car. The shifts are quick and snappy, no lag there. Does not blip the throttle on downshifts like a DSG tranny...its a GOOD standard automatic 6 speed with paddle shifters...I expected that, but its QUITE fast off the line, and with 3006HP, tire spin is EASY....The audio system is like my home theater! Its got 14 speakers, subs, and center channel and is 5.1 Dolby certified...so its quite amazing...been having fun listening to my favorite Jazz and feeling like Miles Davis is in the car with me! If you close your eyes, and forget where its made, you would swear some German guy engineered it, but then you open your eyes and you see the technology and you know it wasnt...lol...The bluetooth, the Audio, the Voice commands for EVERYTHING, from climate control, to dialing the phone to NAV is amazing....Its a different kind of driving experience. Fun, yet at the end of the day I get pretty darn good mileage, still have enough power to get LOTS of tickets and the steering feel and control is great. Oh and heated AND cooled seats are pretty nice as well....
