Help!!! Suspension
Guys,
A friend of mine has an 00 Porsche 996 C2. He just bought a set of GT3 RS Cup series Bilstein suspension(slightly used). He has sent it to a friend's mechanic who works on Audi and V.W Coilovers and performance upgrades. He has told him it needs some modification to install. The mechanic is having the hardest time with it.
Does anyone know who could install these for me for a reasoneable price?
Thanks!

If I read correctly.. you want to put a 997 based suspension on a 996 and wonder why it won't bolt right in? Unless you got it for nearly zero cost you would be better off getting a susp made for the 996 based cars.

It's 996 GT3 Cup car suspension. Thanks!

If that's the case then it should bolt directly into your C2 with no mods. In other words it if is going to fit a street 996 GT3 then it will fit your C2.
I have a gt3 susp in my c2 fwiw. Hope that helps in some way.

I don't think this is a bolt in deal the gt3 is built on a c4 frame, drop links and sway bars are different. I would talk to a shop that has worked on both suspensions because these cars are no where near the same vehicles the only look the same. also unless this a track car why would he want them?

Right... that is why the GT3 suspension that bolted right in to my 1999 C2 can't really be there. Darn my imagination.

I have a street GT3 setup.... the point was that it fits the C2 cars and that some of the GT3 guys have upgraded to cup suspension... hence what fits the GT3 should fit regular C2's.
FWIW: the cup suspension has 1100 lb springs... I think that you would notice a difference... not necessarily an improvement for street use
