Will i benefit from these mods ?

just needed some advice on making my car a little more fun to drive. i have a 2001 c2 six speed. the car runs very well at 18 k miles.

i want to make the following mods to improve the launch and the over all speed of this car. i dont track the car and but plan to one day.

will these mods make any difference? i read tons of threads and just want to know if some of you had qmile times from mods. please let me know if any of these mods are not recommened.

pse exhaust = love that noise
header`s
sport cats 200 cells

evo cold air intake
rss plenum

i know there is little power gains but would someone know what these mods would do to the stock 13.1 quarter mile time, how much would it drop?
that would give me sort of an idea.

i appreciate your time.

You should probably be looking more for dyno info than quarter mile stats. The 1/4 mile times will be largely influenced by the driver's ability. A dyno is much more subjective. I have to wonder how many drivers could replicate the 1/4 mile times of published tests....

That said, I plan on doing similar work to my '02. I've got the intake and plenum sitting here now. I will dyno along the way and will try to make a few 1/4 mile runs just for fun. This spring/summer, we should start a thread to post time slips!

I don't know about the power upgrades...that is a personal choice. Probably not a huge difference in the car with those additions based on what I have seen around. I will say that the PSE is very rewarding....I think everyone enjoys that!

Hahaha!!! These mods. are more for sound, ego, smooth performance and maybe a little positive psychology. No seat in the pant.

I have similar mods. in my car, it was fun and I felt good in the beginning, after awhile the nirvana wore off.

THANKS GUYS FOR ALL the input.

this is my situation , i love my 996 basalt black with the natural brown full leather. that combo is hard to find. i have 18k miles with 2 years warranty. i love the 997 s. i could buy the 02 turbo but i want more the 997 s.

in the meantime i wanted to lighten up my car. pse is a must but i was thinking maybe with these mods i would be happy with the extra push. i know these are track cars but iam not on the track, iam on twisty mountain roads with long straights.

adybuncio : you have what i want to do, can you really tell me the car is faster off the line or at 50mph. your input is greatly appreciated. I apologize for the boring topic but its starting to kill me

My cousin from maxspeed motorsports sells porsche after market exhausts and stuff so iam ok with headers and 200 cat cells. i can easily take them off if i dont like them . i just dont know about th rss plenum, if its going to really do the job ill put it in.

the first week i bought the car , i got killed by a z06 that i meant in the country ! since then i have not been ok with performance.

PSE adds weight if you want ligher get tubi.
All this stuff sounds good but no real benefit in speed just smoother. I did all of this to my car and finally gave up and bought a gt3

less weight equals faster right? Think rs, can someone do the math how much do these mods cost, how much does that cash weigh= faster car!

Seriously do the mods they are fun and you will love them just don't expect dyno or quarter mile times to show and benfit. Just give it a little throttle in a tunnel and you will get your moneys worth!

Seriously, if you want some proven performance so you can kick *** the Z06 you need to get TT with mod. Even with SC your 996 NA can't give the Z06 a run for the money.

I know you love your car, I do too. But after I spent all the money and hoping for much 0-60 bang I didn't accomplished much with my car. I'm just like the next guy who own a 996 NA and wanted more kick out of it. People like us with the dream of smoking the other guy at the stop light only make aftermarket companies rich. There's always a faster car out there.

Porsche had done all they can to get the most out of this car. Just be happy with a few mod. until you step up to another car level.
