New Member Intro - With tire question
New owner/first Porsche, I bought a 2004 Aniv. Edition last month with ~10,000 miles on the clock. I have been very happy with it so far but I can't leave well enough alone. I had it on the track (Roebling Road) 3 days after I bought it and started ordering parts the next week. This site has been a wealth of info and a much needed crash course on setups, I am sure most of you can relate.
So far I have added/ordered GT3 seats (cloth), Techquipment Roll Bar/Harness Bar (DAS Sports are 4 weeks backorded) GT3 6-point Harnesses, CCW C10 9"/11" wheels, Pagid Yellow pads, Motul RBF Brake fluid, and SS brake lines. Now for the question:
This model came with the M030 sport suspension, it is nice for the road but I will be upgrading that the first week of March, but not before my next DE (Feb 22nd). I am about to order Hoosier R6 tires in 245/315 sizes, but I am not sure if the 315's will fit without camber adjustments. If you look at the measurements the 315's are close to the same size as 295 MPSC:
Brand Width Height
------------------------------
MPSC 12.1 25.2
R6 12.5 25.6
I have found several members running the 245/315 R6 setup with good results, but not on a stock setup. So, anybody running the R6 in a 245/315 setup with stock camber and M030 suspension? Do you have any problems?
Oh, here is the obligitory photo:

Welcome to the 6. Nice car and quite impressed to hit 2 track events so early in the year.
I can't say for sure if the rears will fit. But, one other option to changing the camber is to roll your fender lip.
Enjoy!

Welcome to 6speed! Nice ride. Seems like you are going in a pretty aggressive route. There is no way that m030 can handle hoosiers, waaaay toooo much grip for that suspension. Don't buy those tires until you have upgraded the suspension, your stock setup cannot handle that lateral load, nor will you benefit from "overgrip" tires if the car is rolling all of the place.
I would say at a minimum buy PSS10 with HR Sway bars or if you are crazy like me, Motons.
How tall are you, the techequipement bar does not let you slide the seat all the way back like a BK or DAS bar. Just FYI
Can't wait to see pics when you are done. Maybe I'll see you at Barber this summer

As C2Mojo said, the suspension is going to be the weak link. Unless you have the suspension to deal with the extra grip, you arent going to be really gaining anything. Get the Bilstein PSS10s, then get tires. If you lower the car, I wouldnt recommend 315s on a narrowbody. I would go with 295 or 305.

Thanks, I think I will just run my PS2's for the Feb 22nd event and wait for my suspension upgrades in March to mount the Hoosiers. I still think I will go with a 315 rear in the R6, it is closer in size to the MPSC 295 than the R6 295 and will give me a better ratio F/R. If I were mounting MPSC then yes I would be going 235/295.
H-R6 295 - 11.6 section width
MPSC 295 - 12.1 section width (+5/10's over Hoosier R6)
H-R6 315 - 12.5 section width (+4/10's over MPSC 295)
Thanks,

I would also check out KW suspensions. They are much better suited for what you are going to do with the car. The next step up are Motons.

Not sure of the offset, it is whatever CCW (ccwheel.com) does for their standard offset, 9" front 11" rear. I ended up going with MPSC's in 295/235. I also bought a set of 265 fronts to try later this year. I had them powdercoated locally, they look black in the photos but are actually gray metallic. I am very happy with the fit and look, highly recommend the wheels.
On the suspension end, I bought a set of PSS9's off another PCA member along with new GT3 hollow bars and Tarett drop links. It is a world of difference over the M030 suspension that came on the car.
