Removing Supercharger & selling

has anyone removed his/her supercharger sytem in order to sell a car?
I want to sell my 2002 C4 Cab and the EVO Supercharger separately. How much would removal cost? Should I also remove the 3rd radiator that got installed with the supercharger or leave it be? How much would I be albel to sell the Supercharger for?

I think they were down to $7,500 on the group buy. I'm low balling him because the parts are used, possible might need a compressor rebuild, been taken on and off, and I still need to get the ECU flash. He will never get his money out it if he sells it in the car. I'm willing to take it off his hands for 3K in his pocket, I'll even pay the shipping. If someone is willing to give him more then take it. If not, I've 3K whenever he wants it, sight unseen.

If you are looking to sell the supercharger kit, then I would remove the radiator. Removing everything is pretty straight forward, but you will have to have the computer reprogrammed. The injectors can probably stay. I assume you have all the old parts including airbox? If they installed the water pump light on the batwing, you can get a new one of those pretty cheap from the dealer.

Remember, selling the system will require the buyer to pay someone for programming. If you do not provide them with the injectors, they will have to buy those, also.

You might also try selling it as is first. You might be surprised and find someone who wants one with the SC.

My suggestion is to find the buyer first...

Then take both cars to the same mechanic and have it swapped. This relieves both people of missing parts on both sides of the equation.

Also, it would probably be done for a better price by the independent mechanic.

All you would have to worry about now is the ECU

Icemann it's a good suggestion, however it limits my "market" to the L.A. area

John, I understand you reasonning behind the 3K offer, but I'll also have to have the SC removed, and pay for that plus the ECU re-flash.
I might as well just give it away with the car and save myself the hassel

Did you have it installed? I agree with 1999 try selling first with SC still installed. If you wanted to sell without I would change it all back to stock to put the old tune map back in as so next owner will not have any problems with emissions.

You make good points. However, you might want to check to see how much it would cost to turn your car back. I don't think EVO will charge you to reprogram the ECU back to stock. If you leave the injectors in that will save considerable money on the switch back - adds to my cost. I'm thinking if you could get your SC removed for a grand and sell it to me for 3 or so, you'd be getting cash back you wouldn't get on the sale of your car. Just a option for you. Think about it...

I just bid on a used EVO SC on ebay (the auction ended Saturday). It was for the 3.4 996. I did not win the bidding. It went for $6,000. I bid up to just over $5,000 and thought it was a steal at that price. Good Luck.

So.....Mark....I see you've changed your tune on putting a SC in the bluebird huh? I will be interested to see if you do supercharge her....and would like a ride in a SC'd 3.4L car. Jason (StuartFirm) ran his SC'd 99 996 for thousands of miles of track time as well as daily driving and it never hiccuped once.....till he let his friend drive in on the track and he did an exciting end-over-end procedure that ended the racing career of the car. I take it that the only one you're considering is the EVO product line? Looks like you're setting her up to be at the top of her class.
