Carbon Fiber mirrors?

We sell the CF housings for the 996. The price is $1,025 and our quality is unbeatable. You can check out some pictures on our website, or do a search on 6 speed and I'm sure you'll find some pics of some of our customers cars.

Or you can spend $1,795 and get the mirror housings from Porsche. Can you really get 20hp from a plenum, it has been debated to death on the forums, and there hasn't been a real answer that I know of, but these mirrors look really cool.

I'm sure I would, but I have just heard such mixed reviews about it. This is why I haven't done it on my own 996. We make and sell Carbon fiber to make cars look cool, and there are plenty cool parts to make your car faster, and handle better as well. I highly reccomend a light weight flywheel. Made a huge difference in the seat of pants performance. If it were all about speed we would all be driving new Corvettes.

Hey Lane,
I heard mixed reviews about the fly wheel too. Some say it made daily driving not as rewarding as tracking. Apprantly you need to rev the car all the time to feel the extra power. Loss some low end torque ???

The Plenum makes what it states, ask me why? And a grand for CF Wing mirrors is ridiculous and I'm currently in the market for set but will find a pair for half that price.

getting power out of a car by tuning is always a compromise in some area. there's 2 choices: shell out for a turbo, or cowboy up and go for the mods.
the fly wheel is definitly not that bad though (i find it to be a greatly exagerated problem. driving a 996 with the flywheel mod is like driving a stock RX-8 in terms of difficulty getting off the line (cept you have buckets more torque in the 996 )
if you want to try out the plenum, swing by the toronto area meet and you're welcome 2 go for a spin in my 996 to compare and make some notes.
lets keep this thread about the CF mirrors tho, shall we

Spending over a grand on CF mirrors can certainly be thought of as nuts in light of all the many other items upon which you can spend a G note in these cars. Clearly, CF mirrors are not a performance upgrade and shouldn't be compared to something such as a plenum. However, as a work of art, those CF mirrors definitely qualify. And, as with any art purchase, price is a matter of desire. A piece of art is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Those mirrors are beautiful and, apparently, there are others who agree - other with a thousand bucks to prove it. If I keep my car long enough someday I'll get them...
