Fabspeed ALL the way

Listen, everyone has a different opinion on this, it's totally subjective. I did a Fabspeed exhaust (headers and mufflers) for a '99 C2. it sounds raspy and gives the car a nice growl under acceleration, but it's only moderately loud at idle or cruise. No matter what you do, it's going to be louder than stock, but I think the Fabspeed setup is a good one for sound that's deeper, but not necessarily louder.

I'm also looking at possible exhaust upgrades. Is it just the exhaust I need to replace or do I also need to include the catalyst. Not sure what to price out in terms of the upgrade. What exactly are the "cans"? Thanks for the feedback.

The "cans" refer to the mufflers alone. If you are just looking for a different sound, then you only need to replace the "cans". If you are looking into serious tuning, then cats, headers, ...

If you are looking for not that loud I would recommend AP. Sound great and very reasonably priced to boot. Of course you could always try to PSE hack as well. This is not too loud (quieter than real PSE) and should only cost 50 bucks or so.

I like the idea of PSE, but the cost and added weight are downsides.
This is a great thread, with lots of good info.

Hi Guys,
I tried Fabspeed, Tubi and PSE. I didn't like none of them. I finally found my favorite. It's called Kreisseig. It's a Japanese company. Kind of like Jubilly. Jubilly Titanium one is a nice sound, power and weight, but They have cracking problem. When the exhaust got hot and get water drip..... It crackes... The Kreisseig is ajustable, so when you feel to loud you can close it. If you open it, It bypass the cat, so get's way more power. I got the Dyno 24HP incressing on the Rims. It comes with Muffler, Cat and Tips. I can get 15% off from them.

P.S. Here is the sound clip

They just finish building the exhast system for 996, so there is no video clip for 996 on you tube, but I took clips on my camera, so if you want I can send it to you by email. Pm me if you want. It sounds very similar to Kreisseig GT3.

so do i follow right and kreisseig are now offering an exhaust for the regular 996 C2? i must admit that any kreisseig ive heard has been beautiful beyond words.
what are they offering, their F1 valvetronic system or regular muffler upgrades or both.
how tricky is the electrical instal on the valvetronic or is it a manual/mechanical adjustement.
can you PM me with price details on these for the regular 996 C2

I didn't know kreisseig made a system for a 996 NA. I was looking into them about a year ago...... That would be really nice if they did though.

I have teh fabspeed bypasses on my 996 C4S and they are LOUD! Makes it hard to have a quiet cabin, buy people and cops notice you from literally blocks away...certainly a head turner - now where are my stock pipes
