Do these get wet? I see they sit right under the opening of the latch...

I recently purchased K&N intake from you and intend to install it later this week. (Thank you)

The question I have is with regard to the filter coming pre-oiled. My filter came sealed in plastic and does not look, smell, or feel as if any oil has been applied to the filter. Also, there is no oil residue on the inside of the plastic wrapper.

Is this as it should be, or should I apply oil to the filter?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Doesn't K&N supply a water repelling cover for the filter now? I have one on my RX8.

just take the plastic packaging off and install it. dont add or do anything. they get no more wet then your stock air box. so dont worry. you would have to submerge the filter in water and then floor it to suck any damaging water into your engine. If it was an issue, K&N would not make them.
