Tuned up 996 for a steal

If it was my car, I would part it out, meaning return the car back to stock, you will get more $$ out of it, yea its a little work but stock stuff is easy to find and all over the place. The you can sell a low mile clean tip to some guy who wants a TT, but not shift.

Oh no sorry folks wasnt aware of the 100 post rule. hit a sidewalk with this car 3 yrs ago and busted the radiator .. got insurance company to fix it and voila! salvage title on perfectly running car.

I think I would take the 6 sped for same price and no salvage, just my opinion.

Either way, an '01 for $50k isn't that cheap. No way I'd touch it with a salvage title. There are plenty of clean titled 996TTs in the 50's right now.

Try buying a 98 C2S or C4S. Mid 60s is what those are fetching today.

Let me know when you find a fixed up salvaged 996/997 for 1/2 price. Maybe you can buy it for that before it's fixed. A $55K Turbo (unsalvaged price) would probably sell for $25K at the auction.... then need to be fixed.
Tack on another $15K for parts/labor (and a few other hidden things) to fix the car back to new.
I'd be TOTALLY interested in a properly fixed salvaged 2002 996. You say I could find a nice one for $20K???
