DILEMA: Re-spraying the front hood
#17
My suggestion would be to take a bunch of pics of the hood before you have it resprayed so that you can document that the repaint was for minor cosmetic reasons rather than big structural damage.
If I were to be a potential buyer of your car, it'd make a difference to me.
I'm about to do the same thing with a beaten front bumper cover...

I had my red 964 touched up by the place that does the paint for Gemballa here in Stuttgart. I don't think that they repainted the whole hood but it looked like brand new when I got it back. Here in Germany repaint has to be documented with the title so I think that they have a way around it.

I'm in the exact same spot - skirts arrived just on Friday so the car is going in to have them painted and installed. Also have paint chips on the bumper and a couple on the hood that drive me nuts (my car is black) ... so going to have them resprayed while I'm at it, wait for 30 days and then have the bumper, hood, fenders and head lights clear guarded.
The clear guard is not an inexpensive proposition ... can you ever see on resale where the clear guard would be a negative?
