hacking AP mufflers
After listening to many PSE hack videos on You tube, I am considering cutting and welding a 1 1/4 ss cross over pipe between the exhaust in and out similar to some of the PSE hacks people have talked about. Opinions. Thanks. JW

Unless you are prepared to throw them away, it seems like quite a gamble. What if they sound and/or perform worse? I'd suggest that you just buy the right part for the sound/performance you want rather than cut something up that wasn't designed to do what you're after.

hack
Go to fabspeed webb site and they have a video that shows the internals of a stock muffler, might be helpful in your hack job. Also saw a mod that had the mod I am talking about along with the pse mod done also. You could probably do both. JW

I have 4000 mi. on them. I was on the rennlist board and under "GILETTE CAP MOD" where the guy is using a cap to a gilette shaving cream can to block the second inlet to airbox, if you scroll through messages there is another guy named fister I believe that mods mufflers(stock & aftermarket). He has youtube videos of the different mod sounds and the one he did to a maxspeed set is similar to what I want to do and this mod sounds really good,IMHO. Check it out. JW

the hach we are dooing will sound the same if we did it on AP's or stock cans...it jumps right from the in to out pipes...i have heard that it sounds very close to the PSE, i am even going to put a valve in mine to open and close it.
