Killer App. For My Exhaust!

After many months of searching, waiting to get a pair of 997 exhaust so I can do some mod. to fit on my 996.

Finally, I received a pair for nothing from EBAY to work on. The result is astounding. The exhaust sound is impressive and what I have expected. It sounds much better than the Fabspeed exhaust that I had.

Here is the result of pure happiness:

I think it looks kind of odd with the tips not fitting flush with the bumper.

great sound. no doubt. now, can you tell me how does it sound at highway speeds around 3000 RPM in 6th gear? Does it make the cabin obnoxious? does it drone? Any advantages on doing it on the 997 instead of the 996 mufler... thanks daytrader, now I have the itch.

sounds like a big diesel at idle oh and is it possible to remove the tips, flip them upside down, and then swap right to left?? seems like they would fit the bumper much better that way!

Thanks guys! The tips can be remove for switching. I didn't have 997S tips yet so I use a set from non "S" ones just to do the shoot. I took the video right after the work completed.

On cruising speeds there is no droning at all. The advantage of using 997 cans you can do twin by-pass pipes to get more aggressive sound.

Was the mod done from the extra third outlet in the 997 muffler to the exhaust pipe or from the cat intake (at the muffler) to the exhaust pipe?

Why did you pick the 997 instead of the 996?

Thanks!

Do you have any other videos without the bus idling across the street?

Any pix of the hack? I'm not sure about the twin by-pass.

cool, so 997 can fit the 996? What bracket did you use?... I guess you can get the 997 sport exhaust as well. From what I heard, the x51 exhaust has dual outlet pipes...

Just did this on a C4S...

Did the H pipe between the intake pipe and exhaust pipe and it sounds awesome. Used 997 s mufflers and it sounds a little like a tubi and just screams in the upper end. If you lug it, it's no louder than stock. However, the shop had to cut and extend certain pipes to fit. Super happy with the results. Louder than PSE for sure!! Anybody who is contemplating Bypass pipes with no mufflers should go this route, it's way more liveable.

You can use your 996 bracket for the 997 can. Yes, the x51 has dual outlet pipes. I use non "x51" exhaust.
