Sport Seat Retrofit Kit with painted backs review (pics included)
Had the sport seats retro kit installed today down in Ft. Lauderdale at Direct Sales and Design. Very pleased with the fit, finish, paint work, and customer service. Took him about two hours to install, but he was really taking his time and BS'n with us a little. Someone really putting thier mind (and tools) to it, could probably do it in about 40 mins.
The company that makes this kit is out of Italy. I saw thier catolog. Really nice stuff. He is the sole importer right now and is wholesaling these kits to Lltek and NRauto.
I'm not going to say that they are as nice as the real deal sport seats, but pretty damn close. Not to mention, I still have full power and memory functions. And they are a hell of out lot cheaper. He is selling them for $900 (painted) plus shipping or install if you're local. I was at another dealership about an hour later and saw yellow backed sport seats and they were pretty close in appearnce.
The shoulder support pieces actually look way better in person than the previous pics I've seen. It's a black leatherette, with kind of a carbon weave surface to it. Looks really sharp. You could always have them recovered if you want, but they look really good and actually match the perforated surfaces nicely.
Two thumbs up Good mod. Good price. Good fit. Really reasonable way to get those painted backs. Very factory appearance. Looks freakin awesome with the top down!

And here's the other car I was looking at
This might be one of our forum member's next car, the lucky bastard! I went over and took some pics of it for him. SY GT2. Gonna need a second and third job to get that one

Very nice! I hear that they only come with the black wings, no other colors.. Also on your drivers side seat, was the leather wrinkled before he installed them? The passenger side looks fine..

Yes, only black wings. However, the pieces can be wrapped by an upholstery guy if you want a dead on match. The ones that come with it look geat with the black leather though. They're pretty small so I can't imagine it would cost much to have them recovered. I'm happy with the way it looks with my color interior so I'm not going to mess with it.
Yeah, the tops of my seats have always been a little slack with the fit. Not sure if it's the FL heat and humidity or what. The backs are just a shell that goes over the seat and doesn't really affect the appearance of the leather. It might be sqeezing the tops slightly and causing some wrinkling in that shot. I went out and looked at it again this morning, and it looks fine now. Again, maybe the weather here, but they look like they always do with a little looseness up top.

Ask for Omar. He runs the joint.
Install doesn't look hard, but I'd just pay him to do it if you don't mind th drive. It's kind of like mowing your lawn. Not hard, but not fun
He had them painted withing in 24 hours of my order being placed. Perfect match as well.
