What about EVOMotorSport swift shift? Not as severe as the 30-35% reduction like the B&M and a very nice action, replaces the OEM plastic bushings too. Got my vote. Also what about the 997 complete unit?, apparantly that's pretty good too and OEM.

I had the B&M in my 996. No problems and I'm really glad I did it, I'll probably put another one in when I get my next 996 or possibly 993. I am amazed at how long the OEM shifter's throws are. B&M was much shorter although a little notchy which didn't bother me. Very durable, I tracked the car, had about 15 track days driven very hard with no problem.

Haven't heard much about the EVO, although my close friend has one in his E36... and loves it!

Had a schnell for about a week. very sloppy, if this was the only product available, I would have returned to stock. It is that BAD.

But replaced it with a b&m. This is what stock should have been. Short shifts, tight ...

B&M. make sure you check adjustment with the stocker before installing the SS.

stock throws = row row row your boat gently down the stream, but not so merrily

OEM SSK is the best, the second line choice would be the BM. The schnell is a chinese knockoff, total junk. I helped a guy install one in his boxster, a real POS, he also put a BM in a week later. Eric at bumperplugs can hook you up on the bm. try suncoast porsche for the oem version.

get the OEM one hands down, no issues and will not void your warranty

Actually OEM is B&M just rebranded, so its not better. Schnell is not a Chinese knock off.
There are plenty of Chinese knock offs though. From what I have heard they are exact copies of the B&M.

well, if install a B&M and a few months later you have the 2nd gear pop-out issue, dealer won't warranty it.

if you car has warranty and you want a peace-of-mind, get the OEM and have the dealer install it

otherwise, sure, get the B&M one.

btw, you can get the OEM from brandywine porsche for 200 shipped

Well if they are the same price I would take the rebranded Porsche.

I was on the verge of odering the B&M from bumperplugs, do you have a link or contact info for Brandywine Porsche. (google seems to pull up some other porsche parts plcae, though the name may have changed)
