DIY help fitting GT3 seat into car with memory seats
started swapping out the seats in my car for GT3 euro seats and all was going swimmingly until i got to unplugging the drivers side.
theres a whole lot of extra wires under there that arent on any DIYs i read.
theres a loom that connects to a black box attached under the front of the chair that seems to then feed the motors etc.
i assume that this is due to the car having memory features on the driver seat but just want to ask if anyone knows.
can i just simply unplug the loom feeding this unit and remove it from the car attached to the seat or will that cause all sorts of issues.
its not too much of a stretch to assume reversing mirrors may not function etc with this out but thats ok for me, i just dont want any issues with ABS, Airbag or any other warning or critical systems.
ive searched but cant see anything that shines any light.

thanks, ive already got a thread over there but since it gets much less traffic i thought id add here incase anyone know before loren got to me.
ive look over all i can find there and theres nothing that i can see about the extra wiring i have. im sure im not the only one thats run into this so it must be my search skills but that still doesnt help me get it sorted haha.
im loathe to just pull them out as a suck it and see procedure incase i get all sorts of lights and need to trundle off to the dealer with my tail between my legs for a reset.

I have the same memory seats and did the gt3 seat swap. The side mirrors will still work but the memory function will not. Just unplug everything (make sure the key is not in the ignition). Take the seatbelt off the original (mark which harness plug connects into the seatbelts) seats. Mount the seatbelts to the seats and plug it into the harness. Turn the ignition on to check your work... Just make sure the setbelt plug is hooked up to the harness.

thank you.
i just undid the two connections to the seat along with the common one containing the seatbelt recepticle and removed that plastic unit along with the seat. as you said, it did indeed turn out to be the brains for the memory option and all is working well. no more memory on mirrors as expected but full functionality and a fantastic new seat.
im annoyed i didnt swap out the seats earlier. they really do change the fit with the car for the better.
