Anyone else playing around with Turbo's?

The only kit I've seen is that SpeedArt one offered through vividracing. Sorry but $20K could give me a lot more. Just wondering if anyone else was playing with Turbo kits. Seems pretty straight forward in our cars unless I'm missing something?

2 Exhaust Manifolds
2 Ball Bearing Turbos
Piping
Intercooler(s)
Fuel Management
Injectors
Fuel Pump
Few other components to make it all work.
Low Boost due to 11.1 compression (Internals are forged, should handle power)

With the dropping price of Turbos (can be had in the 50s now) there is no reason to Turbo our cars. If you are really interested I would just upgrade. It will be cheapr and safer along with a whole new looking car

I don't think I would put a turbo kit on my 996. That could make hard to sell when the time comes. I watch the 930 turbo prices falling to the point where they are selling for 911 prices, that could happen with 996 turbo/996.

Yeah, I will probably go with a supercharger, I love my set-up just want more power. I was just curious, I haven't really seen much in the way of turbos. Just sucks that there are such few options for the carrera's.

there's a reason why there's no viable turbo option... because if you're into laggy forced induction you can get it from the factory with awesome reliability.

Yeah I just have too much value in my car to try to sell it and upgrade to a TT. I think my set-up would be monster with either the TPC or EVOMS kit. I prefer the TPC but I don't have the money laying around right now so it doesn't really matter. Probably like most people, would just love the extra power. I plan on holding onto this car for a long time so I'd rather dump money on it. 370 at the wheels will be perfect.

The TT looks sexy as hell though.

swift... I see youre on a quest for some power. Before evoms went the SC route, they started with a twin turbo kit for the carrera's. It made good power, but it was way expensive 25K+ w/o install price. So, as you listed, theres quite a bit of hardware involved... and dropped the project. The SC is a cleaner, simpler setup with a power curve that is made for the track.

Now if only you would give me your kit, my quest would be over

Yeah I like the SC set-up, and since I have a C4 I'm sure it would be a lot of fun. I've got my weight down to a C2. I've never been on a track...but maybe one day. I'd be interested in some open runs where you can just go around the track and get a feel for your car and push it a little bit but nothing too serious. I'll be honest I know there are a lot of track "champions" around but trust me I push it on the street too. I know I'm a bad boy haha.

I'm just really interested in some serious power to have fun with. I'm not complaining about the stock output but I just need to represent Porsche proud, can't have stupid cars blasting past me.
