I am really disapointed to see these scam product banners on the 6 now... is there no ad quality control? does anyone here think this product is worth looking at? lame!!

I doubt the site admin's have any control over the banners. I assume they subscribe to an ad service that feeds the banners based on the site content. Since there was a thread about fuel mileage, it matched up that banner ad. Those feeds are automatic and generally beyond the control of the site owner. They just get paid when you click thru.

We probably will see those ad's if we start a thread about Intermediate Shaft Failure or Broken Rods.

When you commercialize your website this is what you can expect. The only website I know of at present that doesn't present some sort of commercial is RennTech...that's because it's entirely supported by membership donations. As the individual forums get bought up by other companies....the objective becomes one of generating revenue to recoup the cost of the acquisition.....they do that with something call "advertising:".....not really a new concept is it? Is it a PIA...absolutely. Is it something you have to learn to live with? Yes unless you want to unsubscribe.
