I was invited by Kurt (pOrsch3) to San Pedro for testing out a brand new exhaust syst. for 996. Dyno and test run on local street.
It was a pleasure to meet Kurt, Chris and Brian. Thanks for allowing Pcars to experienced first hand. Wishing you and your product great success.
The sound of this new exhaust is awesome. You have to hear it.

More info!!!! I have 500+ miles on my test set and LOVE IT!!!!
Peter- Hey buddy, great meeting you and Carlos (CJBoxster) today. Thanks for coming out and lending support, and for shooting some vid. We really appreciated your help and input. Good times all around!
The vid you posted is great! We definitely need to reshoot with a better mic though, it sounds 3x as good in person IMO. My buddy Chris brought his pro cam with a boom mic but the #$@ battery was fried.
Here are the dyno charts from today. We did three pulls with the stock mufflers and then three pulls with the AfterHours Sport Mufflers. Surprisingly all three runs w/ stock mufflers and all three runs with Sport mufflers were very dead-on similar with results of each run. My car is a 2002 C2 Tip, the only engine mod is a KN Intake.
Net result is increased HP / TQ across the band, particularly in the 4-6k RPM range on HP.
The Afterhours Sport Mufflers weigh in at 8.25lbs each! The stock 996 mufflers weigh in at 22lbs each. So in addition to awesome sound and increased performance numbers there is a significant weight savings!
Here is a shot of the mufflers- They are 100% stainless everything, hand made, and use existing stock or aftermarket 996 tips.
Main perks are bypass-pipe-like ripping sound at WOT with a bit more tuned edge, reasonably quiet ride inside cabin, no added cabin vibration, and no brappy decelleration noise.
Cruising at 3-5k rpm at light throttle, you'd think you had stockers on from inside the cabin. Open it up and set off car alarms
They should be ready for order in 3-4 weeks. Am working with the owner / fabricator on an introductory price deal for 1st 7 or more interested 6speeders / pcars members. If interested shoot me a PM and I will keep those who are interested updated. This exhaust is designed to fit all NB 996, and since it uses the OEM tips it should also fit S models. However no S has been available yet to test-fit. Pre-facelift 996 will also need to buy a set of tips I believe, since pre-facelift 996's have the tips attached to the factory muffler.
I don't have price yet from them but I think full retail will be around $900-ish. IMO not bad at all.

Thought I would post some Sunday driving fun -
Went to lunch at Taiko in Brentwood, had no problem putting up to the valet stand- Cruising in, the exhaust is very normal sounding on the db level and I'd say about 2x as loud as stock, but deeper and bassier in tone.
After lunch went over to Westfield mall in Century City to catch a flick, massive underground parking.
Gunned it up row of cars in 1st and set off a few car alarms. Damn it sounds GOOD underground... lol.
After I left the mall I gunned it up a side street and had folks on the sidewalk turning heads from a 1/2 block up.
Next went down to Santa Monica / PCH and cruised up the highway for a bit, exhaust is just pure joy- Loud when I want it to be and super chill when cruising. If I want to "bring it on", I put my foot in it. Let off and things are back to normal.
There is a pronounced deep resonance sound inside the cabin at about 2500 rpm, so I'd say inside the cabin the exhaust is loudest between 2300-2600 RPM. There is no vibration associated with the resonance, just sound. When you get above or below that range the resonance dissapears and it is reasonably quiet, no prob making calls or conversing. Usually at highway speeds I'm at around 3k-4k rpm so it's perfect.
I'm stuck at the office today but looking for an excuse to go drive somewhere... heh
