Throwing in my 2 cents. I have a Reus system and have to say it sounds great. I have been in other Porsches with custom installed systems and have yet to hear one that sounds better or more balanced. I also have not seen one with a more professional and stealth install. The sound and quality of the install has been confirmed by friends who have ridden in my car and the local custom installer who replaced my Eclipse head unit with a Pioneer Avic nav unit.

Doesn't Reus put tweeters in the mirrors? Tweeters in mirrors and sound quality doesn't belong in the same sentance.

Now if we are doing a movie setup which requires a center channel. Thats something else.

I will be posting a full detailed review of the entire REUS process as soon as mine is completed. I have already completed the initial install but I still have some pending issues.

Wicked,

If have alternator noise make sure they don't install a Ground Loop Isolator... This is never the proper fix in a high quality system.

That's not the pending issue but thanks for the tip - I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I am out of town until late next week. Upon my return I'll be in touch with Rick. Once completed I'll post an accurate review of the process and equipment as well as the final result.

Just upgraded to the AVIC F900BT from Pioneer. A ton of issues with the unit.
Waiting for a firmware fix. Stay away from it for now.

Foto,

I installed the F90BT a few weeks ago and only have minor problems with it. Pioneer issued a statement saying there will be a firmware upgrade by the end of this month.

Are you part of Avic411.com?? If not check it out, the got some great info on there.

I had this same issue. I cured it by turning down the gain on the amps. Unfortunatly I do not remember which amp was responsible. a little trial and error and you should be able to figuire it out.

Is your bias agianst mirror mounted tweeters based on your experience with them? Personally I like the brightness and sound quality they supply. I am not looking for a boom box with 4 wheels but a balanced system with good bass response, good sound staging, and accurate music reproduction, that I can enjoy while driving with the top down.

But to your point it also sounds great while watching DVD's in my car.

Try grounding the RCA cables coming out of your Pioneer Avic D3. Pioneers are known to have this issue.

You can also try and relocating your crossovers (if you have any). Sometimes these get placed next to too many car control modules and get interference.

my REUS system had whine/engine noise coming from a specific speaker, i remember driver side tweeter in the mirror. turns out it was just a shorted out wire that lost it's insulation during install.

whine is always fixable, just need to find the problem

hope that helps

well...the mid-tweeter crossovers are in the trunk... right in front of the amps... and how the heck do you ground RCA's?
